Corinthians, one of the most successful football clubs in Brazil, has forced his president Anthony Melo who is confronted with criminal persecution and money laundering.
The Sao Paulo club voted on Saturday during his annual general meeting to expel Melo, who had already been suspended.

Melo, 61, is accused of criminal conspiracy, money laundering and theft, according to legal sources. The relocation followed an investigation into a sponsorship agreement with the VAI de Bet Gambling platform.
According to Brazilian media, documents have shown that Melo has set up a network of fake companies to deduce money from Corinthians, which is in financial difficulty.
Public Prosecutors have demanded Melo and other suspects in the case who will repay around $ 7.2 million to the club.
The general meeting voted 1,413 to 620 to remove Melo, according to official results released by Corinthians, whose high -profile supporters are President Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula da Silva.

The sevenfold Brazilian champions are currently 12th in the table. Their star players were Garrincha, Rivelino, Socrates, Roberto Carlos and more recently Javier Mascherano.
Melo brought in the Dutch Internatonal Memphis Depay last year.
