The San Francisco 49ers came in their previous season with the Denver Broncos without most of their starters, because some fight against injuries, while others simply do not have to endanger themselves for an exhibition -matchup.
After a strong opening ride where San Francisco 71 Yards rode in eight plays for a touchdown, their only other points later came three drives later, when their defense forced the Broncos in a deliberate ground fine in their own end zone, which resulted in safety.
As a team, their performance was terrible, and the competition should definitely open its eyes for how shallow San schedule of San Francisco is. They are only an injury away from serious problems in several places.
While the 49ers left much to be desired on Saturday, there were a few players who stood out with solid games. Let’s look at who earns praise.
CB Chase Lucas
It may not be an exaggeration to say that Lucas was the best player on the field for both teams in this battle. The fourth -year cornerback, in his second with the 49 people, flew around the entire field and led the team with eight tackles and one pass defended. He also had a well -timed pressure that forced an incompleteness.
S Marques Sigle
Sigle, the fifth round pick from San Francisco in the NFL Draft 2025, had a strong show in his first professional competition. He ended with seven tackles, and he would probably have had more if he hadn’t missed much time with a knee injury that cost him the entire second half.
LB Tatum Bethune
Just like Sigle, Bethune missed for some time in this, after leaving in the second quarter with an ankle injury. The second -year Linebacker, however, quickly returned and ended the night with six tackles. In a game where a bad tackling stuck, he was one of the clear places.
RB Corey Kiner
There are not many positives to take the attack away, but Kiner looked solid with the ball in his hands. He amounted to 45 Yards on 10 Carry’s (4.5 meters per attempt), caught one pass for two meters and impressed by some strong movements to prevent so -called tacklingers.
