Thirty -nine drivers will compete in Sunday Nascar Cup series Race in Watkins Glen. Initially the field was 40 cars deep, but an injury of Connor Zilian After Saturday’s Xfinity Series race, Trackhouse Racing forced the car no. 87 out of the race.

Watkins Glen would be Zilian’s fourth cup at the start of the season. But in the aftermath of his victory in the Xfinity Race, Zilian slid out and fell from the top of his car while he celebrated in Victory Lane. Zilian fell awkwardly on the ground and was transported to a nearby hospital. Zilian said he suffered a broken collarbone.
“Thank you for achieving today,” wrote Zilian on X. “I am out of the hospital and get better. Fortunately CT scans are clear for my head, I just have a broken collarbone. Thankful for all the doctors for quick attention and grateful it was not worse.”

Before his scary fall, Zilisch off the field in Watkins Glen to pick up his series-leading sixth victory of the season. As you would expect, Zilian spent a large part of the day fighting Shane van Gisbergen. The two road dishes from the road eventually made contact late in the race, causing Van Gisbergen to hit the wall.
